Organic, environmentally friendly FISH SKIN BLANKETS:
"BIO" LEATHER TANNING is an advanced Brazilian technology. It is an organic tanning process which is chromium and heavy-metal free.

The acetic acid (an compound of vinegar) and vegetable tannins used are some of the chemicals taken from nature and accepted in the process of "clean" tanning. One of the most important aspects is that the tanning process of natural or ecological leather does not pollute the environment.

The skins of tilapia and salmon are by-products of food production only.

Durabliity
FISH SKIN leather is very STRONG and resistant as its fibers are naturally intertwined. The fish skins are made in 1 square foot and 1 square meter "blankets" - an easy to use product for a variety of large or small custom leather projects. Although it is very durable and strong, the leather is also very soft and supple and easy to cut and work with.

Shape
Tilapia and salmon leather blankets are made using individual fish skins which are joined together to produce a larger surface area.

Texture
The texture of fish skin leather is soft and smooth. There is no "scaly" feeling, as the fish scales have fallen off in the tanning process - only the unique pattern remains.

Tilapia blankets measure 100 cm (39 3/8 inches) long and 60 cm 23 5/8 inches wide.
